Condor Ferries, now part of the Brittany Ferries group, sails Portsmouth to Guernsey. It’s a different kind of crossing to the France and Spain routes on this site: shorter, a smaller island at the other end, and no long drive once you’re off the ship.
We haven’t sailed this route ourselves. Our own experience so far is on the Brittany Ferries France routes, Cherbourg and Saint-Malo. What’s below is based on route research and current operator information.
Departures
Condor describes this as a traditional (not high-speed) sailing, with a choice of crossing times through the week. Check current days and times at Condor Ferries before booking.
Ship and stay
Passenger lounges, an onboard duty-free shop, food and drink options, and outside deck space. Vehicles travel on the car deck as usual. This isn’t a high-speed catamaran service like some of Condor’s shorter Channel Islands routes, it’s a conventional ferry crossing.
Departure from Portsmouth

Arrival in Guernsey
A small island, easy to get around without a lot of onward driving. If Jersey is actually where you’re headed, note that there’s no direct Portsmouth to Jersey sailing at the moment, see our Jersey page for the current options.

Alternatives
